November 9th- This weekend Terry closed
the book on 2008 in top form at Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, Texas. After qualifying fourth on Friday night,
Terry gridded the field eighth for Saturday's main event. As the laps wore down the #20 Tango Transport
Well's powered sprinter seemed to get faster with each lap. Sometimes passing two at a time, Terry headed straight
to the front and trailed eventual race winner Ray Allen Kulhanek to the checkers. Terry's second place finish was his highest of the year and a great way to bring 2009 to an end.
The Tango Transport team is greatful for all the support over the season and look forward to a banner year in 2009
|
July 6th- With the motor back at Well's
Racing Engines for a little tune up, mother nature almost helped Terry out by not missing a race during the "Weekend
of Speed" by raining two of the three events out. Thursday and Friday's races were cancelled due to rain, leaving
only one event to run this weekend at 105 Speedway in Cleveland, Texas.
With Terry currently holding the 9th position
in ASCS Gulf South standings, fellow racer Bruce Crocket and his wife Amy offered Terry a ride for saturday's event to
try to keep Terry in the points.
With something amiss on the car, Terry's hot laps weren't quite up to
speed. But the team was determined to get the #8 running right for Terry and after a mag change, he was ready
to go. In his heat race Terry finished 8th, and had to run the B to make the feature event.
Having to start
near the back in the B Feature, Terry was able to work his way up, but just fell shy of a transfer spot.
Special
thanks to Bruce and Amy Crockett for providing a ride for Terry saturday evening helping to keep him in the points.
|
June 16th- After two good runs in late
May and early June where Terry posted an 8th at Gator Motorplex and followed it up with a B Feature win and a 7th at 105 Speedway,
its time to get back to the dirt!
This weekend it's double duty as Friday night Terry and Hal Monroe
make the pull to Beaumont's Golden Triangle Speedway then on to Houston Raceway Park saturday.
The
early going has been rocky, but lately the former SOW6 micro champion has been getting his 'sprint
legs' back. And that's not just figurativley speaking. Early in the year Terry underwent surgery on both
knees which took it's toll. In recent weeks we've started to see the familiar results we're
used to seeing with the Tango Transport sprinter.
|
April 20th-
Finally I was able to blow the dust off the car at Champion Park Speedway in Webster Parrish,
Louisiana, with a new ARRE rocket under the hood. We missed hot laps when we found a pin hole leak in the water
line in the staging area, back to the trailer for a quick fix then it was time for the heat race. I didn't push the car
for the first couple of laps then it was hammer down to take the win away from our team mate Rusty Pipes by 6 car lengths.
Feature was set without invert so we ended up front row outstide. By lap two we had the lead and checked
out but the track was so rough we hooked a rut in three and four and lost the lead in the closing laps. It was
a great battle once again with Rusty but we ended up second. Not bad I guess since the last time I
was in the car was November. Just goes to show the car is great, all I need to do is hang on! Thanks!

April 7th- Terry and the Tango
Transport team made their way to 105 Speedway in Cleveland, Texas, saturday night for a little ASCS Gulf South action.
In the third heat Terry was mired in traffic and unable to make it to a transfer position. The eight
lap heat wasn't long enough to get to the front as he finished sixth.
Relegated to the B Feature
and starting mid-pack, Terry picked 'em off one-by-one enroute to his first B Feature ASCS win. The win put Terry
at the tail of the A Feature where he moved up several positions by the time the checkers flew. Terry crossed the stripe
12th aboard Hal Monroe's #20 Well's powered Maxim/Tango Transport sprinter.
|
April 2nd-
Saturday evening Terry Monroe and the Tango Transport team mixed it up with some
of the best in the nation as the ASCS held their Second Annual Josh Lofton Memorial at Champion Park Speedway.
Starting
on the back row for the heat race, Terry was able to make some ground up to finish 5th behind three ASCS region champions
and fellow former SOW6er, Channin Tankersley.
Making the transfer to the A Feature, which is based on passing
points, Terry still had his work cut out for him with ASCoT full-timer Jason Johnson and World Of Outlaw full-timer Sam Hafertepe
Jr starting in the front two rows.
With only one caution the entire feature on a track that was drier than
the desert dirt, Terry brought the #20 Tango Transport sprinter home in 14th.
|
March 26th- Only three
days left until Terry and the ASCS hits Champion Park Speedway in Minden for the Inaugural Josh Lofton Memorial. Last
year the event was cancelled due to heavy rains in the area.
In preparation for the event, the #20 Monroe
Motorsports sprinter made a visit to Dennis Well's shop for a little tune up on the dyno. Wanting to bring all the
ponys possible to the hometown track, they fine tuned the bullet Dennis had already created.
Saturday's event is run in the memory of Josh
Lofton, an up-and-coming young racer that lost his life in a 2006 drowning accident. Lofton was ranked second in ASCS Mid-South
points at the time.
Saturday's racing action is slated to get under way at 6:00 p.m.
Champion Park Speedway is located east of Shreveport, LA, off I-20 Exit 38, then 0.2 mile north, then east 0.7 miles.
For more information, contact the track at 318-371-0077.

February 2nd- Terry Monroe and the Tango
Transport team traveled to South Texas this weekend for the ASCS Gulf South Region opener.
Friday night at Golden Triangle Raceway in Beaumont, Tx., Terry finished
4th in his heat race and transfered right into the A feature. As the field went green, the track was quickly blocked
in front of the #20 Tango Transport sprinter, ultimately collecting Terry in the pile up. With a broken front axle on
the first lap, Terry had to settle for being credited with 20th position.
Saturday evening at Houston Raceway Park Terry was denied the opportunity
to start the race while chasing a mis in the motor. By the time the problem was found Terry missed the time frame to
help pack the track, which is a requirement at HRP. With the issue resolved, the team had to sit back and watch the
racing from the stands.
|
January 23rd- As the start of the season is just around the corner, Terry is recovering
from surgery and ready to get back behind the wheel.
ARRE is about finished with the bullet for 2008 and Harry Machine Shop has finished the head work. All that's left
is for Terry to heal up after having both knees operated on and for Kenny Wheeler put another power plant in for Florida.
Thanks to the following sponsors for returning for the 2008 season: Geroge's Grill, Bayou Outdoor Super Center, Tango
Transport, Pop-A-Lock, Wilson's Bistineau Inn and Shreveport motorsports.
Special thanks to our new sponsors this year include NAPA Auto Parts and Bossier Federal Credit Union.
On Terry's 360 ASCS sprinter, DMI delivered a new rear end and was worth the time it took.
As for Terry's surgery, Dr. Anglin did a great job on both his knkees. Terry also requested the doc shorten the
left and lengthen the right. The success of that request has yet to be determined.
|
November 12th- Here's the latest from Terry on the
road this weekend as he suited up against some of the best ASCS has offer at HRP's Texas Grand.
First things first, I wish to thanks everyone for their support this year. Our season has been filled
with a lot of highs and a few lows, but the support from my sponsors has always been great,
Heat race Friday: running
late leaving shreveport friday I found out how hard it is to put my driving suit on while driving thru Houston traffic.
But we did it thanks to a few stop lights close to the track. As my heat race was being pushed off, my dad and crew
were ready with the engine warmed up. All they needed was a driver. With seconds only to spare, I jumped
in with shoe laces loose and off we went. Since we were the last to get on the track, I had to relenquish
my starting spot up front and had to start dead last. As the checkers flew we ended up 5th, not bad for starting
10th.
Friday night feature: On time this time, started 18th and ended up 11th.
Saturday night feature: With
Friday night's good results, this allowed us to qualify for the main event. We started 6th row inside and by lap
20 in a 30 lap race, we worked our way up to 6th knocking on the door for 5th. With two lap cars spinning out
in front of and no place to go, I was collected by the spinning cars and ended up with a bent front axle. Not the way
I wanted too end the night, but we had a great run going and the car and motor is bad to the bone, just needed a little
luck.
Thanks again, looking forward to our 2008 season with your support, Terry Monroe.

November 2nd- With another runner-up finish in final
point standings with the Southern Outlaw Winged 600's, Terry is set to go racing with the American Sprint Car Series.
Back for a second year in the fuel injected 360 sprinter, this time Terry has teamed
up with his father Hal Monroe. Hal, a racer once himself, has been a car owner for several years now on
the ASCS circuit. Both Hal and Terry look to make an impact on the ASCS scene in 2008.
Last weekend Terry had the Tango Transport sprinter on display at Harrah's
Louisiana Downs for the Toys For Tots bike ride. The toy drive was sponsored by Tango and The United States Marines.

September 25th- Terry's long-time friend and honorary
Grandfather, Nelson Holden, was laid to rest with full Military honors. Terry would like to pass along this link to
the photos at Nelson's funeral.

|
September 25th- The new Tango Transport 360 is almost
ready for the 2007 season on the ASCS circuit!
In 2008 Terry will hit the road with the American Sprint Car Series while carrying the Tango Transport colors once again.
Click here for a sneak at the new sprinter.

Terry's Race Report from the 600 Nationals: We pulled a rabbit out of the
hat, after pulling an all nighter Wednesday to get the new motor in paid off! 130
of the best 600 sprints all competing for the $10,000 to win. With Thursday's practice night being rained out, our test
and tune time was short. Friday night after 4 qualifying races we made it to the A main starting19th and finished15th! What
a great way to start the weekend.
Saturday night, same time, same place, 4 qualifying races all work on passing points.
Top 24 cars in the country start the A main, with the top 6 cars from friday nights program locked in, this only left 18 spots
available. After the 4 qualifers we made it A main, look out were coming! We started in 22nd in the A main
by the time the checkers flew we ended up 16th, not bad for a thrown together stock motor.
With 1 points race left,
Sept. 29th, in Willis, Tx., we're 7 points out of 1st in the Sprint Super Series. Maybe our stock motor has
1 more race left in her to get the championship!
Click here to see photos from I-30's 600 Nationals with the Tango sprinter.
|
August 27th- For a different twist on the results,
Terry comments on saturdays SOW6 Presented by Tango Transport race at Champion Park Speedway for this update.
Heat
Race: Went flag to flag for the WIN!
Feature Race: With the roll of the dice to invert the field, we went from
the front row to the fifth row for the start. With some luck on the start, it was like Moses parting the sea, the
inside row went low and the outside row went high leaving me the middle to shoot right up to the front. We ended up in
third place on the first lap only to be waved off by a car spinning out in the back. So much for that good start. On
the restart we were back on the gas but Moses didn't part the sea this time, we had to work for each car we passed. By
lap 10 we were fifth and knocking on the doors of 3rd & 4th but could not find enough real estate to make the pass
work. At the checkered flag we ended up fifth, not bad for starting 10th.
Thanks so much to all our sponsors
for a great season so far, your support has been greatly appreciated. Terry Monroe
Next race- I-30 in Little
Rock, Ark. on September 1st.
|
July 29th- Last night Terry and crew headed to Gotor
Motorplex in Willis, Texas, for the SOW6 Presented by Tango Transport scheduled event. His arrival to the track
was delayed due to the left rear on the hauler blowing both tires. The three-hour ordeal kept Terry from making
hotlaps where he then jumped right into the heat race.
In his heat race, he managed to hold on for a 5th place finish and got his first
feel of the car for the evening. The feature proved to be a better run as Terry took the Tango Transort #51 towards
the front to take 2nd place in the feature.
And you thought that was the end of it? With three laps to go, Terry
noticed he was getting wet on his left side. He quickly realized it was methanol and was leaking where a push fitting
had come loose. Thankfully, there were no problems because of this.
Hold on, we're not done yet. Gator Motorplex decided to pit a carbureted
360 against a 600.. Terry to be specific. It was a 10-lap shootout with the 360 out front the whole
time... but barely. Terry was able to pull alongside but ran out of real estate before he could make a pass.
At the checkers Terry was 1/2 car length behind the full-size 360.
Don't go anywhere... because Terry sure didn't while he was on the side of
the road coming home last ngiht. Yes, the flat-tire saga continued as the trailer experienced a flat tire as well.
And now we're glad to report Terry and the crew has made it home safely!
|
July 18th- It was announced earlier today that Terry Monroe
will be back in a 360 sprinter racing on the American Sprint Car Series in 2008. He'll be joining forces with Tango
Transport, Inc., to carry the company colors on the ASCS tour with Well's power under the hood. Terry will remain as
Director of the Southern Outlaw Winged 600's as well as compete in selected events carrying the Tango colors there as well.
The majority of 600cc events he plan's to attend are big money shows like I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, who hosts
the 600 Nationals.
|
|

April 29th- Terry Monroe put on a heck of a show last night
with the Southern Outlaw Winged 600's Presented by Tango Transport coming in at second.
Terry was challenged by young gun Aaron Reutzel for the heat race win. The two battled the
whole heat race with Reutzel taking the checkers. When feature time came around, Aaron drew a 2 which put Monroe on
the pole for the 20 lap event. Terry led most of the feature which only endured two cautions. The #51 of
Monroe and Reutzel's #87 raced wheel-to-wheel for several laps and swapping position more than once. Reutzel finally
made a pass on the outside and charged to his second SOW6 feature win of the year and Terry taking second.
Terry's next event with the Southern Outlaw Winged 600's will be Friday at Many Motor Speedway
on May 18th and then Saturday May 19th at Speedarama in Lufkin.
|
April 16th- Saturday evening Terry and the Southern
Outlaw Winged 600's hit the dirt at Fast Trax Speedway in Chatham, Louisiana. Terry, ready to get back to racing after
a rain-out two weeks ago, wasn't so enthusiastic by lap three of the feature.
After finishing second in his reat race, Terry was gridded third-row inside with
a clear view of the front. Unfortunately on lap three the car which started second began to lose control and collected
Monroe. The contact was enough to end Terry's run for the night.
Terry's next event with the SOW6 will be at Champion Park Speedway on April 28th.
Terry would like to give thanks to Kim at Hooters in West Monroe. On the way to the track,
Terry and fellow driver Matt Ebarb stopped for a bite to eat where Kim, who manages the retaurant, allowed Terry and Matt
to display their sprinters out front. We'll label Terry as 'Delightfully Tacky', and Matt, 'Yet Unrefined'.
|
April 1st- Last night race #2 on the Southern Outlaw
Winged 600 schedule was called as storms swept through Northwest Louisiana. This might have been a good thing for fellow
competitiors as Terry Monroe had the new powerplant in and set up on a map to the front. The #51 Hyper Racing/Tango
Transport 600 is dialed in and ready to improve on a fourth-place finish at CPS in March. The next scheduled event is
at Chatham's Fast Trax Speedway in North Louisiana.
|
|

March 11th- Last night at Champion Park Speedway Terry's
#51 Tango Transport/Hyper Racing sprinter held on for a fourth-place finish.
Terry dominated early in his heat race after shooting from third to first exiting
turn two on lap one. He then stretched his lead to take the checkers on the eight lap heat. The heat win
gridded Terry second row-inside, but on the invert a #2 was drawn which put Terry's #51 Hyper on the pole.
As the field went green for the 20 lap feature, Monroe motored ahead down the backstretch
with a five car lead. After catching a rut in turn four he slipped back to third for the second circuit. Once
he got back under the car, he pulled up behind the second place Reutzel and challenged for the position. It was evident
Terry had his hands full last night as he slopped one more spot to Daryl Wills by lap four. After enduring several cautions
and attempting to run down Wills, Monroe held on to take fourth at the checkers.
Terry's next stop with the Southern Outlaw Winged 600's is March 31st at 67 Texarkana Speedway,
Texarkana, Arkansas.
|
March 10th- On the first day of the 2007 season, Terry Monroe
announces another sponsor in his quest for the SOW6 Championship, Walker Spring & Brake.
Walker Spring & Brake is providing the new 'magical ride' for the Tango Toter
that brings Terrys team to the track each week. As we all know, a smooth, relaxing ride to the track is essential
for a 600 driver to perform at his best. Stop by Walker Spring & Brake located at 1041 Jordan St. in Shreveport, Louisiana, or
give Randy Walker a call at 318-222-0671.
|
February 3rd- On the final night at East Bay Raceway
Park Terry didn't find the results he was looking for. In a field of 40+ cars where less than half make the feature,
Terry did each of the three nights. Terry's heat had him going green in the second row-outside. Unable to
move ahead, he settled for 4th at the checkers. The feature pitted him further back for the start in 16th. At
the end of the night the rain came and had the teams scrambling to load up. Without having the official results,
we're expecting Terry to have finished 10th.
|
Feburary 3rd- Since Terry arrived at East Bay Raceway Park on Thursday afternoon, he's been searching
for that first win of '07. Thursday evening he raced the #51 Tango Transport/Hyper Racing 600 in 12th
after starting 16th. His quest to the front was hindered by a suspension part that snapped during the feature.
Looking for better results on friday, Terry was set for the first heat where he crossed the stripe third and pumped for
the 20 lap main. Unfortunatly, Terry dropped out early with mechanical woes and was credited with 22nd in the main.
Tonight is Terrys last chance to put the Tango Transport/Hyper Racing sprinter into victory lane as East Bay
Raceway Park wraps up their Winter Nationals.
|
|

January 27th- The #51 sprinter is race ready!
Terry spent this last week putting the finishing touches on the Hyper Racing/Tango Transport wing 600. Wednesday morning
Terry and crew will hit the road for East Bay Raceway Parks Winternationals in Tampa, Florida. Click here to see the latest pictures.
Terry wanted to point out the assembly of his 2007 Hyper was one of the easiest he's ever put together. The manual
Hyper supplies makes it a painless, easy build for even the newest of racers. When it comes to customer service, J.D.
and Heath at Hyper Racing are top notch! For anyone considering a new Hyper, feel free to email Terry with any questions
at tlm1959@aol.com.

January 17th- Terry Monroe is proud to announce
his partnership with Allen Robinson Racing Engines, commonly known on the track as A.R.R.E. A product of Robinson
Racing Products, A.R.R.E. is a race-proven leader in mini-sprint circles.
Based in Alvin, Texas, Allen Robinson has been building race motors for
17 years. Aside from a couple mechanics races, Robinson dabbled in off-road dune buggy racing back in the 70's.
Luckily, Robinson chose the path of building motors and has been very successful at it. Last year A.R.R.E powered its
way to four championships in four different series: Multi Class at Gulf Coast Speedway, BMSA, EMSA, and SOW6.
Robinsons skill and knowledge has earned him a reputation of building fast,
dependable motors that win. With Robinson's motors, Terry has great expectations for 2007. Allen can be reached
at 281-756-0095, or thru his mailing address at 1715 CR 159 Alvin, Texas 77511.

|

January 2nd- As the new year begins, Terry already
has a straightaway lead. Hard at work on the 'Tango Toter' (a product of Monroe Conversions) Terry is starting to see
the light of day. Tango Transport , Inc., a primary sponsor on the #51 sprinter will be rightfully represented
on the road this summer as Terry looks to capture his second SOW6 crown. Click here for more photos.
Not only do motorists along the Texas and Louisiana highways need to keep
an eye open for the Tango colors passing them, but racers on the track as well!
|
December 5th- A few weeks have passed and Terry
is steadily making progress on the conversion. Although we're not positive, he may have broke a few 'pet labor laws'
in doing so. It seems Kayla, who drives the hauler, provides security, and now appears to be wielding a hammer, has
been hard at work under less than favorable conditions. For the latest click here.
|
|

November 12th- With
the 'off-season' just getting off the ground, Terry Monroe is already looking ahead to 2007. With Tango Transport
Inc. and Hyper Chassis signing on for 2007 already, Terry's wasting little time preparing for next year. The gooseneck
trailer is gone and has been replaced with a 28ft. Renegade. For the hauler, well, let's just say 'Monroe Customs'
is back in business. Once again Monroe has taken on the task of converting a box van into a race hauler.
Pictured to the left is Kayla, Terry's newly hired truck driver/security detail. To see the progress on Terry's conversion,

|
November 4th, East Bay Raceway
Park- Terry Monroe hit the track once more after the SOW6 season finale by traveling to East Bay Raceway Park
in Florida. In his second appearance at the yearly Fall Brawl, he came home third on night one (friday), and captured
fourth on saturday evening.
|
October 12th- Not even a week after the season has ended, Terry Monroe is pleased to announce
that Hyper Racing and Tango Transport, Inc., have already comitted to back Terry and his #22 sprinter again in 2007.
Mike Dicely of Hyper Racing in Lewisberry, Pa., told Terry the new '07 chassis which features the new down-tube
design, is already in production for Terry to compete in the Winter Nationals at Eastbay Raceway Park in Florida
this January. More information about Hyper Racing can be found at www.hyperracing.com.
Tango Transport Inc.'s Vice President of Capacity Development, Joe Gabbard, has comitted as well for the 2007
season. There are also plans to incorporate Terry and the sprinter into their driver safety program.
In addition, Tango will sponsor the SOW6 event at Champion Park Speedway on August 25th, 2007, with a BBQ cookout at the track.
For more information on Tango Transport, visit www.tangotransport.com.
|
October 8th, Monticello Speedway- Attempting to claim his second SOW6 championship in three years,
Terry Monroe headed to Monticello Speedway in search of the title.
With 21 cars signed in, Terry and the #22 Hyper 600 was set to go green in the 5th position for his heat. To Terry's
left was current point leader Pipes and to Terry's back was other top three point contender, Lee Knowles. Tonight, either
of these three drivers could walk away with the title. As Terry moved up to third, the straightaways were his downfall
as he was out motored down the stretch. Ultimatley, Terry took fifth at the checkers, behind Pipes and Knowles.
The feature drew an invert of 6, which put Terry second row-inside. As the field went green, Terry wasted no time
making his move up to second behind polesitter Dustin Gates. Most of the race saw the #22 in the second spot.
A late race challenge by Lee Kowles saw the two battle side-by-side until the #41 of Knowles got the advantage and second
at the checkers. Monroe held on for third behind Gates and Knowles.
It should also be known that all during the evening, the top three drivers did everything in their power to 'rattle'
the others. Everything from rubber rattelsnakes to selling anothers car from under him. It appeared Rusty's car
was sold for $500, without his knowledge. Lee Knowles was also reminded of where to finish after putting his helmet
on. It seems as he closed his visor, it read LAST PLACE on a tear-off, of course, that was after he emptied the rocks
from his gloves. All in all, the top three, along with the rest of the members, made the most of the last race of the
season.
As the points were tallied, Monroe claims the runner-up spot in the SOW6 point standing behind now three-time champ,
Rusty Pipes.
The SOW6 Championship banquet is set for 11 am at El Chico's in Shreveport on October 28th.
Terry would like to thank all his sponsors for thier support of the #22 wing 600...Hyper Racing, Tango Transportation,
Wilson's Bistineau Inn, George's Grill, Freedon Realty, James Brown Builders, Smith-Petty Trophies, Shreveport Motorsports,
Pepsi Americas, Whitt's Powdercoating, Pop-A-Lock, Caddo Paint, Account Control Bureau, Marty Burke Motorsports, and Bayou
Outdoor Supercenter. Thanks for a great season!
|
September 24th, Gator Speedway- Coming off the 1st Annual 600 nationals, Terry looked to get back
to his winning ways in SOW6 at Gator Speedway in Willis, Texas last night. Unfortunately, mother nature made one of
her many appearances yesterday to Gator Speedway.
In the heat race, Terry was gridded at the back of the line-up. As usual, the #22 Hyper/Tango Transport sprinter
wouldn't be there for long. As he made his way toward the front, laps ran out and Terry crossed the stripe fourth.
Set to go in the feature, Terry was lined up on the third row with the heat race winners right in front of him and the
points leader up front. As the field was in the staging lanes, mother nature called the race with a bolt of lightning
to a transformer, turning the lights out.
|
|

September 17th, I-30 Speedway- After falling short of securing an A Main starting spot on friday
night, Terry put it on the track saturday for another round of qualifying races.
After drawing a 149, which was the third highest pill draw all day saturday, the #22 Hyper of Terry Monroe was slotted
for the ninth heat, tenth starting position. Terrys passed four cars in this heat which was enough to
claim 6th and advance to the next qualifying race.
The sixth-place finish in his heat put him on the front row in the first qualifier. Within a few laps, Terry found
himself going backwards as his 636 began losing power halfway down the straightaways as you could hear the motor laying down.
Motor woes would eventually bring the #22 Hyper home 5th, not qualifying for the 1st Annual 600 Nationals.
|
|

September 15th, I-30 Speedway- Last night was test-n-tune for over 120 entries in I-30's
first annual 600 Nationals. Terry's night went well having four different hot lap sessions, each
making 20 laps. The #22 Hyper Racing 600 was dialed in for the most part. Today they'll be a little
more tweaking to get the most out of his 636 before tonights qualifying races.
|
|

September 8th- As if the competition in the Southern Outlaw Wing 600's isn't enough, next week
Terry will test his equipment and skills against the best in the nation. The good news is this, he's one of them.
On September 15th and 16th the best of the best will descend upon Little Rock's I-30 Speedway for the
biggest purse ever in 600cc racing... $10,000-to-win. Already known for hosting the Short Track Nationals in October
each year, they appear to be onto 'the next big thing' with this event. Virtually every chassis manufacturer
in the business will be in attendance, with many of them behind the wheel.
Having already claimed a series title in 2004, the former SOW6 champ is easily a frontrunner to win the event.
Terry and other top contenders from SOW6 will do everything in thier power to bring the title to Louisiana. One thing
is for sure though, as long as that #22 is on the track, he'll be near the front!
|
September 10th, I-30 Speedway- This weekend Terry made the short trip to Little Rock's I-30 Speedway
as SOW6 geared up for the 600 Nationals.
Out of a possible 50 chips to draw from, Terry picked #40, ensuring a back-of-the-pack start. Not the plan.
With 33 cars on hand for the evening, the #22 Hyper was gridded 5th row-inside. Almost as quickly as the green waved,
the checkers were in the air as Terry crossed the stripe fourth.
Not near where he would like to be at the start of the feature, the line-up showed him to be 8th
row-outside. As much excitement as it is to see a track full of sprinters, it wasn't quite what Terry had in mind as
he made a dash to the front when the green fell. With 10 laps down and crossed-flags being shown, Terry had made it
up to sixth. Over the next few laps he was able to dice for position in the 4th and 5th spots. But as time wound
down, Terry brought it home sixth.
|
August 26th, 67 Texarkana Speedway- Set for a double-header this weekend, Terry Monroe and the #22 Hyper
Racing 600 was on the offensive, and so was mother nature.
Friday evening Terry had everything but the kitchen sink thrown his way. The heat was uneventful as he was gridded
second but fell back to fourth as the checkers flew. When the feature went green, Terry was penalized and sent to the
rear on a bad call. As several cars got together in front of Terry and his fourth-row outside starting position, he
went to the high side to avoid it and motored on. Somehow, the #22 Hyper caught the penalty and had to come from the
back. As the checkers were near, Terry and the #41 made contact slowing his momentum. The bobble dropped Terry
back one spot to claim 6th in the feature.
The following morning Terry hustled to make a motor change for Champion Park Speedway later in the evening. But
just as the car was ready, the race was called due to impending thunder showers for the night.
Terry's next event will be with SOW6 at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock on the 2nd. This will be a perfect chance
to get a little more practice on the 1/4 mile track before I-30 hosts the 600 Nationals in September paying $10,000 to win.

August 20th, Speedarama- Coming off a win the night before in an unsanctioned 600cc event,
Terry and the Hyper Racing #22 Tango sprinter looked to carry that momentum into last night's trip at Lufkin's Speedarama.
The heat race didn't provide much action as the passing was minimal. During the 8 lap heat Terry maintained his
position of 4th from green to checkers.
The night looked to to take a turn for the worse when Terry forgot to go the scales afer his heat race. This miscue
relegated Terry to an eleventh row-outside starting position. As always, Terry battled his way toward the front earning
an 8th place finish and the Pepsi Hard Charger Award.

August 19th, Motorama Speedway- Taking advantage of a non-SOW6 sanctioned event last night, Terry made
the trip south to Beaumont, Texas for an 'open' 600cc event.
After arriving late to the tack and missing out on hotlaps, Terry strapped in just in time to start his heat race.
Terry was only able to advance from 6th to finish fouth in heat race action.
As the feature went green, Monroe was gridded 8th and used every bit of real estate to make his way to the front.
As this was an all-or-nothing race with no points involved, Terry dropped the hammer and took the checkers in front
of the 24 car field.

August 7th, Ark-La-Tex Speedway- Sitting atop the SOW6 point standings, Terry and the #22 sprinter
made the short trip to Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, Louisiana saturday. Twenty sprints made the pull only to see Terry
leave with the lead still firmly in his grasp.
Terry sat in the third position for the start of his heat race. But as the green waved it was the #22 making it's
way quickly to the front. As quickly as it beagan, it was over as Terry took the checkers.
As the feature was set to go green, Monroe was in the fourth row-outside starting position with Lee Knowles on the
pole. Knowles, who's currently second in the points behind Terry, was looking for his third SOW6 feature in a row.
With everybody dicing for position on the start, Terry was able to advance his position to start his run to the front.
As the caution flew on the 15th circuit Terry had made his way to fouth. After the ensuing restart, the #22
Hyper Racing sprinter took a hit in the middle of turns one and two, slowing his momentum and losing two spots. As the
laps came to a close, Terry was unable to move up any further, settling for a sixth-place finish.
The next scheduled event for the Southern Outlaw Wing 600's takes the series to Speedarama in Lufkin, Texas, on August
19th.

4th at Texarkana last night. Terry and his #22 Hyper sprinter come from last to finish second in the 10 lap heat race.
As the heats were recorded and the invert was drawn, Terry was set to start 3rd in the feature. The 20 lap feature event
started off with three attempts to get the race under way. As the laps went by, Terry was solidly in the top four dicing
for position. As the last restart caught many by surprise, he was able to hang on to finish fourth.

July 2nd- Southwest Super Speedway- After starting fourth row-outside in the heat race, Terry wasted
little time showing the way to the front. In the classic sense of 'worse to first', he piloted the #22 sprinter
to the front to take the heat win. As feature time came for the SOW6 'Firecracker 40', it was Monroe on the pole for
the first 20 laps. As the green waved, Terry jupmed out to the early lead until he developed a push early
in the race. On round five while leading, the #22 Tango sprinter slipped off the backstretch and Terry fell back to 8th
position. After gathering the car back and making some in-cockpit adjustments, it wasn't long before he was on the hunt.
By the time the red flag came for the halfway point, Terry had made his way back up to the third spot. When the second
20-lapper took the green, it was a battle for second as Coggins, Gentry and Monroe provided the on-track fireworks.
Gentry and Monroe swapped positions several times when contact finally upset Terry's car enough to lose his momentum.
At the checkers it was Drake, Gentry and Coggins with Monroe bringing home fourth.

June 2nd- After a Top 10 finish in the American Sprint Car Series points in '05, Terry is again
racing with the Southern Outlaw Wing 600's and on a tear to pick up where he left off in '04 as series champion. With
5 races in the books, Terry has posted back-to-back wins in May at Lufkin's Speedarama and Nashville's Southwest Super Speedway.
Throw in a couple of 2nds, a 5th, and an unfortunate DNF and that makes you the current points leader. Terry's
only DNF came at the first event of the year at Vivian's Ark-La-Tex Speedway. Rest assured... the bugs are gone!
With six events in the books, Terry leads the SOW6 point standings by 9 markers over two-time SOW6 champion #47 Rusty
Pipes.
